Opportunities for ASID Designers

Design a Room
Showhouses are an excellent marketing opportunity for ASID designers to demonstrate their design abilities to the public and potential clients. To help make this a successful project, a public relations program is planned by ASID for all Showhouses to give the designer direct exposure to the news media. This includes contact with national and local magazines, newspapers, and television regarding your room and the Showhouse for publication in design feature stories.

We know the time, effort and financial commitment it takes to design each room. To ease the burden, we have developed the "Partner Portfolio." We seek out generous home furnishings suppliers and providers of interior design services to help you obtain the materials and services necessary to create the beautiful rooms for which our ASID Designer Showhouse is known.

Volunteer
A Showhouse event requires the efforts of scores of volunteers. A great way to network with your peers and support the programs of your Chapter is to get involved on a Showhouse planning committee.

Opportunities for ASID Student Members

Design a Room
Students are given the opportunity to debut their design talents to the public by participating in the ASID-IL Showhouse in the spring and fall. Under the guidance of an ASID designer, Student Chapter members get hands-on experience on what it takes to bring their design to completion. This is a wonderful opportunity to observe professional designers at work, meet interior design product and service suppliers, and add project experience to your resume!

Partner Portfolio
We recognize the time and financial resources required to design each room. To that end, we secure commitments from you, the generous home furnishings suppliers and providers of interior design services, to help designers obtain - at an additional trade discount, at cost, on loan, or gratis - the materials and services necessary to create the beautiful rooms for which our ASID Designer Showhouse is known. We invite you to be part of our 'Partner Portfolio'. This alliance between designer and industry enables us to accomplish several win-win objectives:

• To connect designers with manufacturers, trade services and workrooms that enthusiastically support our Showhouses. ·
• To ease designers' financial burden by securing promotional considerations on goods or services used in the Showhouse. ·
• To provide a means for businesses to promote their products and services to designers and the public. ·
• To strengthen ties between our Design and Industry Partner members. ·
