ASID Member Benefits The Value of Belonging When you join ASID, you become part of a community that is committed to helping you and your profession succeed. You also enjoy access to an unmatched resource of information, knowledge, services, and events. On the National level there are 49 ASID chapters comprising approximately 33,500 members. The Illinois ASID Chapter is the third largest chapter in the United States with almost 1,000 design practitioner members. Because of its size and energy, it is in a position to sponsor and co-sponsor many educational, historical, and social activities throughout each year. Once you become a member, we suggest volunteering for one of the many ASID committees and you will soon develop a network of ASID friends and sources with whom you can share creative ideas and information. The ASID Illinois Chapter is fortunate to have its office located in the internationally famous Merchandise Mart. The Mart provides you with its resource of more than 1,000 designer showrooms.
