2004-05 ASID Illinois Chapter
President
I am very excited and honored to serve as your 2004-05 Illinois Chapter President and hope to measure up to the bar set by the very dedicated and talented leaders that have gone before me.
Your chapter leadership team is busy accomplishing several goals set for the coming year:
We realize the value of your time, and the limitations of our financial and volunteer resources. By "doing fewer things better" our intent is to deliver relevant program and networking opportunities more effectively by combining multiple events together into six bi-monthly programs. In producing better, well-attended events another goal achieved is the creation of more significant sponsorship opportunities.
One of our challenges this year will be to prepare for the new chapter support model. All ASID chapters will move to an eight-member board of directors to reduce the amount of time spent on governance and administration, as well as to increase leadership and other volunteer opportunities.
A very visible change you will see is the launching of the fresh, new look and philosophy of the ASID Branding Initiative. To more effectively convey our benefits and strengths, the first change is the concept of "re-branding" the society…not just a logo change but branding that crosses all aspects of our profession, from the way we work with others to the way we present ourselves to the public. The result is a completely new spirit of who we are, what we do, and how our profession benefits all people through visible core brand values. ASID is where "Design comes to life" and everyone - designers, students, industry and the public - will know ASID Celebrates Design!
We're fresh, we're new and we're celebrating! This is just a small sample of what we have planned. Please join us, participate, volunteer, and take advantage of all we have to offer.
